MetOx Futures Invitational
An application-only, on-site summit for exceptional PhD & Master’s candidates
Jan 13–14, 2026 — MetOx Headquarters, Houston
The MetOx Futures Invitational brings outstanding graduate researchers inside our production floor and R&D labs to connect rigorous research with real-world scale-up. Over two immersive days you’ll present your work to MetOx scientists and engineers, tour our advanced MOCVD production lines, interview for full-time R&D and equipment roles, and engage directly with the leadership team shaping next-generation high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tape.
This is not a career fair. It’s a selective technical summit where discovery meets deployment — designed for candidates ready to move research into impact.
Who should apply
Soon-to-be or recent PhD/MS graduates with hands-on experience in MOCVD, PVD, thin-film deposition, or closely related process/equipment domains. Ideal candidates are cross-disciplinary problem solvers grounded in first-principles thinking, curious experimentalists, and engineers who thrive in fast-iterating startup environments.
What to expect
Facility tour of pilot and MOCVD production lines
Technical presentations of thesis/capstone work to MetOx scientists
Interview opportunities for R&D, process, and equipment engineering roles
Direct engagement with leadership on HTS manufacturing strategy
Peer networking with elite researchers from top programs
Sample opportunity areas
Thin-film process development · Deposition equipment & fluid modeling · Materials & interface characterization · Electrochemical polishing & surface engineering
How to apply
Submit your resume and a brief statement (≤1 page) outlining your interest, relevant research or experience, and the impact you hope to make in advanced materials or clean energy. Applications close Nov 24, 2025.
Selected participants will receive an invitation to attend in Houston — all expense paid.
