Superconductivity is broadly described as ‘the absence of resistance in a material’, and more technically defined as:A phenomenon of exactly zero electrical resistance and expulsion of magnetic flux fields occurring in certain materials, called superconductors, when cooled below a characteristic critical temperature.”

Superconductors are capable of conducting electricity without resistance or loss of heat. They have a variety of unique properties significant to a broad range of electrical power applications, including:

  • Very high current flow

  • Zero electrical resistance

  • No heat produced

  • Enable high magnetic fields

HTS Wire

High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) Wire, is highly complementary to energy efficient technologies and applications. Produced through our proprietary manufacturing process, MetOx’ HTS is designed to enable a wide range of applications in large present and future global markets. HTS Wire provides:

  • High current density that creates the intense magnetic fields needed for fusion power, advanced medical devices, and other magnet applications.

  • An alternative solution to copper systems, HTS carries 250X the current density making electrical equipment lightweight and compact, and reducing the electrical loss and heat that is limiting to high current applications.
